College textbooks: rent or buy?

Okay, so I'm off for Macedonia year in my first and I had not known I would Spending over $ 1,000 for textbooks. The campus textbook store advertises for rent, or about 50% cheaper (do give). So what would be better? Rent and save the money or buy them new or used, and then try to sell them again at the end of the semester?

My friends, that books have hired are fond of it, but I am about anything can save the most money. I've found that buying them used online is usually about the same price, if not is cheaper than renting. Plus, you can at the end of the semester for extra cash sale. Sell it online is almost always more profitable then selling them back in the bookstore. I recommend this article on the best places to find to buy books online: http://makecollegereality.com/succeed/getting-books/buying-textbooks-online.html

Manufactured goods have been getting cheaper, both in absolute terms and relative to services. Since the Consumer Prices Index was first launched in 1996, the prices of "goods" have fallen an average 2%; while the prices of services have risen 35%. The most talked about example has been in textiles: since 1996, the average price of clothes has fallen 36%. But it is not just clothes that have been falling in price: new cars are 1.5% cheaper than they were in 1996; household appliances are 24% cheaper; toys are 30% cheaper, and of course, in the audio-visual category, you'll find things are on average now 56% cheaper than they were nine years ago.

Lyn Miller-Lachmann's novel, Dirt Cheap, is an eco-thriller that will strongly appeal to anyone interested in ecology and the crime novel genre. In this suspenseful novel, Nick Baran, a middle-aged professor, pursues the chemical company that he believes gave him leukemia and contaminated his suburban neighborhood. His wife feels isolated, exhausted and frightened by her husband's obsessive pursuit, and ultimately begins an affair with a powerful local attorney who opposes her husband's efforts. When Sandy (the idealistic teacher of Nick's son) joins Nick's crusade, she allows herself to be drawn into a retaliatory affair and into his messy and tragic life. Told from multiple points of view, Dirt Cheap explores the loss of innocence, the nature of courage, the price of material comforts, the place of faith and community, and the power of the individual to change lives. Lyn Miller-Lachmann is editor in chief of MultiCultural Review and an author and editor of reference books, textbooks, and books for young readers. Among these are the award-winning multicultural reference title Our Family, Our Friends, Our World and Once Upon a Cuento, a collection of short stories for children by Latino authors.
